I saw a beautiful sight this week, just for a moment.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a background that looks so much like a studio backdrop, highlighting the beautiful warm browns of the fairywren’s brown bill, lores and eye-ring.
This little fairywren perched so sweetly on the horizontal ‘twig’, which also looked as though it had been set up in a studio to enter in the bottom left corner and finish just short of the top right corner.
The inadvertent model did a brief moment of preening which fluffed up her tummy feathers so they curved around and caught the light, and held her head in just the right pose to get a catch-light in her eye – exquisite.
Happy birding, Kim

A magic moment.
Sometimes we need as many magical moments as we can get. I hope nature is treating you to many of them
Serendipity at its very, very best.
The fairywrens were even kinder to me when I saw them next, coming too close to photograph, even with my phone. It was truly magical
A beautiful moment of deep contemplation and so beautifully captured. These are always just a very precious moment in time enjoyed by these gorgeous little birds and brought to life by your magical camera.
A wonderful way to end the day.
It really was lovely Barbara, I’m glad you like the photograph. For some reason answering your comment made me gaze through the window, and that made me remember that I haven’t taken the dogs for their walk… thank you from me and them!
