Last week I had a special request for a Buff-banded Rail print.
I have many shots of these lovely rails and I looked through my catalogue for some I hadn’t processed.
It was fun to process these images and see if either suited – one of them did. I wonder if it would be your choice too.
My apologies that lirralirra is late this week, it’s been a very long time since that happened. My youngest Golden Retriever has been unwell, for a while I wasn’t sure if she’d be coming home from the vet hospital. She’s with me now, slowly recovering, still unable to see from a cluster of four seizures in twelve hours. She’s had wonderful care from the vets and I’m hoping so much that my precious heart dog will soon be her loving, intuitive, comical self.
I’d planned to write more about these rails (use the search bar to find previous posts if you’d like to read more) and give the usual camera details but I’m exhausted. My apologies.
Happy birding, stay safe, Kim

Beautiful shots, the second one has more appeal to me, the curious beholding of the photographer. I’ve had 3 Goldens in my life and adored each they were all absolute characters. My current rescue dog finds lockdown depressing as she can’t have meet up for playdates with my sons’ dogs and grandchildren. She’s doin’ the lockdown limbo. Trust your baby shows dramatic improvement.
My sick dog came home from the vets with a terrible tummy problem, that they thought could be managed conservatively but it couldn’t. My older dog ended up getting it too, and spent two nights in the hospital. Thankfully they are both home now, curled up nearby and quietly snoring as the golden fluff floats through the air to settle on the floorboards. What breed is your rescue dog? I hope she’s able to have some playdates soon, I think most of us would appreciate some playdates for ourselves too!
Don’t apologise!I hope that things are going better xxx
They got worse first but hopefully going well now. Ruby’s poor mum caught the bug and is in hospital now for a second night, I’ve just spoken to them and she’s going well and should be home tomorrow xo
Dear Kim
I echo others comments re your gorgeous Ruby. May she soon be back to her healthy self and looking after you. 🫂
That is so kind of you Alison. She’s not out of the woods but maybe she’s a little stronger today and her vision seems to be improving, or she’s getting used to where things are. One good thing about lockdown is that I can devote myself to caring for her (and cleaning after her, which is less fun but rates as a full workout in the gym), Kim
Oh, I do hope your dearest dog will be much better soon!
Many, many thanks Donna
Sorry about your dog!
Thank you Stephen
Oh Kim. Your buff-banded rails are BEAUTIFUL. However, it is your other news which worries me. The furs that share our lives wind their paws deep into our heartstrings. I hope (so much) that she will be ok.
Thank you EC, my heartstrings are well and truly caught up with Ruby, she has looked after me for a long time.
They do. And it is impossible to extricate those furry paws from our hearts. And I have made no attempt to do so. Hugs.
I need those hugs atm, thank you
