I’ve done a crazy thing this week, and so far it’s been brilliant.
Pink Cockatoos
I’m back in the Mallee. I thought I wasn’t going to be able to make this trip but thanks to some awesome friends I’m here and I’m going to try super hard to get some beaut images to share on lirralirra next week.
At the moment I’m sitting outside to get enough internet to write. My screen is literally covered in bugs and it is drizzling so I must hurry back inside.
Many thanks to everyone for your kind messages last week, they mean more to me than you could imagine.
Happy birding
Kim
Enjoy your time in the Mallee, Kim. Great to hear you are on the road to recovery. Have fun and take lots of great photos.
Thank you Neil. It was beautiful to spend a few days out there, hopefully I’ll get back there soon, I’m missing it already.
nice kim, quintessentially aussie birds/landscape
It really is quintessentially aussie! It’s so good to be out there …
I am thrilled to hear that you are back doing what you love. Definitely a wonderful medecine.
Take care and enjoy the cockatoos to the max (without any need for a water pistol).
It was a fantastic trip EC, just what I needed. I wish I was still there. What a funny thought about the water pistol : )
I met you in January on Norfolk Island and have enjoyed your posts and photos since then. Pink Cockatoos are my favourite birds! Please post a close up if you get one. You could try for a Regent Parrot if you are near the Murray. They are beautiful and do fly-overs in formation flying, with a flash of bright yellowy-green tipped with sharp black lines of wingtips and tail feathers, all birds flying in unison. Lovely!
Hi Judy, I wish I’d met you on Norfolk Island but you either have the wrong place or the wrong Kim. Your comments about the Pink Cockatoos and Regent Parrots proved prophetic as I saw both species on my trip and I’m just deciding which images I’ll have time to share this week and which will have to wait until next week. I did get close ups of the Pink Cockatoos!
